Wyatt Easterling: "Where The River Goes"

Wyatt Easterling

"Wyatt Easterling's album is like a hymn about struggle and perserverance summed up with the outlaw mood of early country." - Country Song Roundup / Top 21

From performer to songwriter to record label and publishing company executive, Wyatt Easterling has successfully ridden the music industry wave over the years and has gleaned a deep understanding of the inner workings of this exhilarating business. He possesses the single most important skill needed to rise to the top of this competitive field – the ability to write or identify a great song.

Understated yet powerful, Wyatt’s songs exhibit a sensitive strength and a vulnerable clarity which have led artists such as Dierks Bentley, Joe Diffie, Neal McCoy, and Billy Joe Royal to embrace and record his work. Having written songs that have seen platinum success and risen to the top of the charts, Easterling displays an unwavering ability to craft songs that hit home.

“I'm a songwriter with deep country and folk ties; I like to write little vignettes about everyday life. I confess to loving heartbreaking ballads,” says Wyatt. His new release, Where this River Goes captures his words and soul. From the title track to his duet with Jessi Colter Jennings ("Sounds Like Life To Me"), Wyatt’s album is filled with simple truths and poignant stories that embody the finest qualities of Americana. Where This River Goes shows that there’s no greater rush than hearing a songwriter sing his own stories.

Carolyn Currie: "Waves of Silence"

Carolyn Currie

Following on the heels of the multi-award winning CD Kiss of Ghosts, Carolyn Currie's new recording, Waves of Silence proves to be yet another songwriting gem from this Maine-based artist. The first of Carolyn's four CDs to be released on Nashville's High Horse Records, Waves of Silence explores a range of emotions and lays them raw with a combination of insightful, penetrating writing, masterful lyrics and beautifully crafted music. Yet even as Carolyn addresses intense emotional subjects, the music is infused with soothing beauty and a haunting quality that has become the hallmark of her work.

Recorded in Seattle and augmented by the impeccable production of David Lange, Waves of Silence is truly an album experience. The songs range from the playful Don't Run with Scissors to the troubled anti-war piece Rain and later Rolling Thunder, a heart wrenching song about POWs and MIAs, made that much more poignant by John Morton's subtle electric guitar work. Pulling in the listener with her unique vocal style, Currie's voice reverberates with fragile tones and a lilting beauty and has been compared to Loreena McKennitt, Eva Cassidy and Stevie Nicks.

As an emotional Journey, this CD weaves its way through loss, despair, yearning, love and humor. Capturing the essence of human emotion, the song Hello Silence is alternately infused by aching loneliness and elated joy, enhanced by the soaring accompaniment of Seattle Symphony cellist, Roberta Downey. The tongue in cheek Hot for a House is a sassy number in which Currie entices her husband into a real estate deal. Both a writer's album and a listener's delight, Waves of Silence reverberates with a quiet insistence that will leave you needing to revisit, re-hear and re-experience the subtle palette of Currie's work.
